MARCLAIMED research on alternative water resources presented at CETEF’26

MARCLAIMED was represented at the 5th Central European Technology Forum (CETEF’26), held on 19–20 October 2026 at Poznań University of Technology in Poland. The event provided a platform for knowledge exchange between science and industry, with discussions covering resource efficiency, circular technologies and sustainable water management.

Dr Hanna Jaroszek, from the Centre of Environmental Protection at Łukasiewicz – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals (IMN), a MARCLAIMED consortium partner, presented results from the ongoing project. Her contribution explored how alternative water resources can be used for managed aquifer recharge, making better use of available water and strengthening resilience to water scarcity.

This research contributes to MARCLAIMED’s ambition to integrate managed aquifer recharge with alternative water resources to mitigate water stress and support proactive drought management. Through this approach, the project aims to advance the sustainable use of surface water and groundwater resources.

Beyond the research presentation, Dr Jaroszek participated in the “Why Does Society Need Scientists?” panel during Young Scientist Day, contributing to a discussion on society’s expectations of science. The visit also offered an opportunity to explore the Center for Chemical Power Sources at Łukasiewicz–IMN, where Professor Grzegorz Lota introduced research on advanced battery materials, cell development and accredited testing.

CETEF’26 brought together research dissemination and scientific exchange, creating opportunities to connect across disciplines and explore potential collaborations. For MARCLAIMED, participation provided a valuable setting to share ongoing work on water resilience within a wider discussion on sustainable technological development.
