MARCLAIMED Launches AWR4Climate Cluster Official Webpage to Unite European Efforts on Water Resilience

The MARCLAIMED project launched the official webpage featuring the Alternative Water Resources for Climate (AWR4Climate) Clusterclick here. This new digital hub serves as a central platform for three leading Horizon Europe projects, MARCLAIMED, RECREATE, and AWARD, uniting their efforts to enhance Europe’s water resilience against climate change.

The newly launched website is designed to be the primary source of information and collaboration for the AWR4Climate initiative. As traditional water sources face increasing stress, the cluster is focused on advancing the use of non-conventional resources like reclaimed wastewater, desalinated water, and rainwater harvesting. The webpage will be instrumental in disseminating research, shaping effective policy, and fostering stakeholder engagement to overcome barriers to the adoption of these critical solutions.

Key features of the new webpage include:

  • A Unified Mission Statement: A clear overview of the cluster’s vision for expanding the use of Alternative Water Resources (AWR).

  • Project Synergy: Detailed information on how MARCLAIMED, RECREATE, and AWARD are working together.

  • Strategic Objectives: A roadmap for shaping policy, developing a shared case study hub, and promoting the market uptake of proven water solutions.

  • Working Groups: An introduction to the five specialized Working Groups that will commence operations in 2025.

The AWR4Climate Cluster is fully aligned with the European Union’s climate adaptation strategy and water security ambitions. This new online platform will be essential for turning coordinated research into unified, evidence-based action.
