Co-Creating Solutions for Sustainable Water Management at MARCLAIMED’s Second Workshop

On January 29, 2025, the MARCLAIMED project successfully hosted its second stakeholder workshop in Barcelona, bringing together experts, local stakeholders, and project partners to advance sustainable water management solutions.

The session focused on co-developing strategies to enhance the adaptive capacity of water systems and ensure economic sustainability. Participants from the Baix Llobregat Community of Practice collaborated with the Spanish demo site team, contributing valuable insights to refine the project’s innovative tools.

Key discussions revolved around operational strategies for controlled aquifer recharge using alternative water resources, improving long-term resilience to climate change. Interactive activities fostered collaboration, enabling stakeholders to align efforts toward real-world implementation.

Coordinated alongside Cetaqua – Water Technology Centre, Aigües de Barcelona, and IMDEA Agua, the workshop reinforced MARCLAIMED’s commitment to securing Europe’s water future through innovation and cooperation.

The next workshop is scheduled for October 2025, where we will continue building on these advancements.
