Bridging Science and Collaboration: Highlights from the 3rd MARCLAIMED General Assembly on Texel

From March 2nd to 4th, the serene landscape of Texel, Netherlands, became the hub for European water innovation. Acacia Water was honored to host the 3rd General Assembly of the MARCLAIMED EU consortium, bringing together partners from Portugal, Spain, Poland, Belgium, Austria, and France for three days of reflection, site exploration, and strategic planning.

More Than Just a Meeting
At the heart of the MARCLAIMED project is the belief that while data and research are the foundation of our work, personal bonding and a firsthand understanding of project locations are what truly bring the research to life. By moving our discussions from digital screens to the field, we foster a deeper level of collaboration necessary to solve complex water security challenges.

Exploring the Texel Demo Site
A major highlight of the assembly was the visit to the Texel demo site. Here, partners were able to see innovation in action, specifically focusing on solutions for underground water storage and the development of alternative water sources. Standing on the ground where these innovations are being tested serves as a powerful reminder of our mission: to create resilient, sustainable water solutions for Europe and beyond.Gathering at the Natuurboerderij Plassenberg, the consortium spent the week reflecting on the significant progress made over the past 12 months. We analyzed our challenges, celebrated our breakthroughs, and aligned our vision for the next phase of the project.
