Advancing Managed Aquifer Recharge with the MARCLAIMED Project Community of Practice

On the 28th of November 2024, MARCLAIMED project held its first Community of Practice (CoP) workshop with entities and organizations from the Baix Llobregat region. This event, organized in collaboration with Aigües de Barcelona, focused on advancing the innovative use of managed aquifer recharge (MAR) techniques with alternative water resources.

The workshop served as a platform for experts, organisations, and stakeholders to come together, share insights, and discuss strategies for integrating MAR solutions in regional water management. Managed aquifer recharge plays a critical role in replenishing groundwater reserves, addressing water scarcity, and enhancing resilience against climate change.

Participants engaged in interactive sessions to explore how MARCLAIMED’s cutting-edge methodologies could be applied locally, aiming to create a replicable framework for sustainable aquifer recharge. This initiative aligns with the broader European objectives of fostering water circularity and resource efficiency.
